Maxint Work Terms

These Work Terms apply to Maxint Work ("Work"), available at work.maxint.com as a cloud service and as software you run on your own infrastructure. They add to our Terms of Service, which also apply. If these Work Terms conflict with the Terms of Service, these Work Terms control for Work. If you have signed a separate agreement with Maxint for Work, such as an enterprise agreement or order form, that agreement controls where it conflicts with these Work Terms.

1. Customers, administrators and users

Work is provided to the organization that creates a workspace or buys a plan (the "Customer"). The Customer’s administrators decide who can join the workspace, what each user can see and do, and which integrations and AI features are enabled, including through single sign-on. The Customer is responsible for its administrators’ and users’ use of Work and their compliance with these Work Terms, and for having the rights and giving the notices needed for the content they put into Work, including any notices to employees required by law.

If you use Work through a workspace your employer or another organization controls, that organization’s administrators can manage your account and access, export or delete content you create in the workspace, including messages and documents.

2. Customer content and data processing

The Customer owns the projects, tasks, documents, messages, files and other content its users put into Work ("Customer Content"). We use Customer Content only to provide, secure and support Work for the Customer, under the Customer’s instructions. For Customer Content that includes personal information, Maxint acts as the Customer’s processor or service provider, and our Data Processing Addendum applies and forms part of these Work Terms. Our current subprocessors are listed on our subprocessors page.

3. AI features

  • How they work: Ask Work, AI Actions and AI Agents use AI models provided through Groq to answer questions from workspace content, suggest next steps and carry out tasks.
  • No training: Customer Content is not used to train AI models, by us or by the providers we use, whose agreements prohibit them from training on it. Providers may keep requests for a limited period, generally no more than 30 days, for reliability and to detect misuse, and longer only if a request is flagged as violating their usage policies.
  • Review and control: AI output can be wrong or incomplete, and suggested changes can be accepted or dismissed. Agents act only within the permissions administrators and users grant. The Customer is responsible for reviewing AI output and the actions it approves before relying on them.
  • Turning them off: administrators can choose which AI features are available in their workspace.

4. Integrations

Work can connect to third-party services such as GitHub, and to other tools through APIs, webhooks and the Model Context Protocol. When an administrator or user connects a third-party service, they authorize the exchange of data between Work and that service, and that service’s own terms and privacy policy apply to it. We are not responsible for third-party services or what they do with data they receive.

5. The cloud service

When the Customer uses Work in the cloud, we host it, apply updates, and back up Customer Content daily. The Customer can export Customer Content while its subscription is active and for 30 days after it ends, after which we delete it as described in our Privacy Policy and the Data Processing Addendum.

6. Self-hosted deployments

  • License: if the Customer runs Work on its own infrastructure, we grant it a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license, for the term of its subscription, to install and use the Work software for its internal business purposes, within the limits of its plan, such as the number of users.
  • Proprietary software: the Work software is proprietary to Maxint and is not open source. The Customer may not copy, modify, distribute, sublicense or create derivative works of it; remove or circumvent license keys, usage limits or other technical controls; or reverse engineer it, except where the law permits this despite this restriction. Any third-party open-source components included with the software are licensed under their own terms.
  • The Customer’s responsibilities: the Customer is responsible for its infrastructure and for operating, securing, backing up and updating its deployment, and for any loss or damage caused by its deployment or configuration. We recommend applying updates promptly; we provide updates and support as described in the Customer’s plan.
  • Data: Customer Content in a self-hosted deployment stays on the Customer’s infrastructure. We do not have access to it unless the Customer gives us access, for example for support, and AI features send requests to AI providers only if the Customer enables them.
  • When the subscription ends: the license ends, and the Customer must stop using the Work software and delete it.

7. Acceptable use in workspaces

In addition to the acceptable use rules in our Terms of Service, users may not use Work to harass, threaten or discriminate against others; to share content that infringes others’ rights or that the user has no right to share; or to store or share illegal content. Administrators may remove content and users that break these rules, and we may act on reports of abuse.

8. Plans and fees

Work’s free and paid plans, their features and their limits are described on Work’s pricing page or in the Customer’s order form. Fees for self-hosted licenses and enterprise plans are as stated in the Customer’s order form.
