Maxint App Terms

These App Terms apply to the Maxint app: the website at maxint.com, the web app at app.maxint.com and the Maxint apps for iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows and Linux. They add to our Terms of Service, which also apply. If these App Terms conflict with the Terms of Service, these App Terms control for the Maxint app.

1. Plans

Essential is free. Paid plans, their features and their limits are described on our pricing page and in the app.

2. What Maxint is, and is not

Maxint provides software to organize, analyze and report on financial information, and to help you manage your finances and business. Maxint is not a bank and does not hold your money. Maxint is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, certified public accountant, tax adviser or law firm, and nothing in the Service is investment, tax, accounting or legal advice.

Calculations, insights, rankings, forecasts, reports, tax estimates, suggested categories and other outputs of the Service, including those produced by Finsight and agents, are provided for information and convenience. Rankings of accounts, cards and funds in Explore are based on information from providers that may change at any time, and are not recommendations or endorsements. You are responsible for your financial decisions and for checking the accuracy of your records, financial statements and tax filings before relying on them or submitting them to anyone. Consider consulting a qualified professional for advice about your situation.

Some features, such as robo-advising and tax-loss harvesting, are not offered unless and until the required registrations and approvals are in place.

3. Connecting your financial accounts

When you connect a financial account, you authorize Maxint and the connection service you use (Maxint Link, Stripe, Plaid or GoCardless) to access and retrieve information from that account on your behalf, as your agent, and to store and use it to provide the Service. You confirm that you are entitled to connect each account and to grant this access. Where a financial institution does not support ongoing access with a token, you also authorize Maxint Link to store your credentials, encrypted, and use them only to keep the connection working, as described in our Privacy Policy. Connections are read-only; Maxint cannot move money from connected accounts.

Stripe, Plaid and GoCardless are independent third parties, and your use of their services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. Information from connected accounts comes from your financial institutions and connection services. It may be delayed, incomplete or inaccurate, and we are not responsible for errors in it or for an institution or service interrupting a connection. You can disconnect an account at any time.

4. Finsight, agents and artificial intelligence

  • Review what AI produces. Finsight and agents generate answers, summaries, projections, categorizations, draft entries and other content using artificial intelligence. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. You are responsible for reviewing it, including AI-generated ledger entries, accounts payable drafts and categorization rules, before relying on it or committing it to your records.
  • Agents act on your instructions. When you create an agent and assign it a task, you authorize it to take the actions you permit, within the access you grant. You are responsible for the instructions and permissions you give, and you can change or revoke them at any time.
  • Providers you connect. If you connect your own AI provider or model endpoint using your own credentials, you must comply with that provider’s terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability, performance or output of providers you connect.
  • Appropriate use. You may not use Finsight or agents to create fraudulent, misleading or unlawful financial records or documents, or to evade accounting, tax or other legal requirements.

5. Documents and invoicing

When you upload receipts, invoices or statements, you confirm that you have the right to provide and process them. Text extraction is an aid; review extracted amounts, tax rates, vendors and posting accounts before committing drafts to your records.

If you use the Service to issue invoices or collect payments from your customers, including by direct debit through GoCardless, you are the seller of record. You are responsible for your invoices, your agreements with your customers, any refunds or disputes, any taxes you owe, and for complying with the terms of the payment services you use and with applicable law, including payment network and direct debit rules.
